We are planning a non-stop voyage via Bali's north coast, Madura, Java north coast, Thousand Islands, Sunda Straits, Krakatau, Lampung, Enganno, Mentawais and Bungus just south of Padang. We would love to take longer and stop and if we find paying passengers we can change our plan. Departure is set for the 14th of Feb. from Bali.

Rick et al-

Barreling through the straits north of Benoa can be extradordinary at the right (wrong) tide -- especially with a following sea!

If convenient, on one of these posts it would be interesting to hear about what kinds of cargo or services you plan to drop off at each port.

I trust you will have a good trip. i wish I were with you.

Regards-

Jack

Jack,

I know those waters from years ago when we ran jet boats over to Lembongan every day with full loads of tourists aboard. They can be nasty but if you stay close inshore on the Bali side at this time of year there is flat water almost all the way. We wont be carrying cargo other than all the timber piled on the foredeck that we purchased in Sulawesi. We need that to finish off the accommodation and as we have no paying volunteers at this point, we wont be stopping along the way unless we need rest. We have ballasted the forward tanks down with seawater to trim the ship so all tanks are full for our 1,200nm run.
